Talkster - Make Free International Calls to Anyone

Talkster_home_page

There's few of you out who need to call people outside your country (some of UCLA MBA folks included) and Talkster is the best, free way to call someone internationally.  Yes, free.  As in. don't cost nothin'.

Some of you might think Skype is the way to go, and I think you're onto something.  Skype is a great, free way to make international calls through the internet/computer.  But, Talkster is the best, free way to make international calls through a cell phone.  Free Mobile International Calling.

Here's how it works. Fill out the form on the home page, providing them with your number and the number you want to call.  Talkster gives you both a new local Trapster phone number (via text).  Just save that number as its your friends' new phone number while you're both in separate countries. All that, and it's for free.  Do the right thing.  Get some Tallkster going.

And if you're still old school, pre-paid calling cards is another route to go for cheap international calling - one option for you would be getting Comfi Phonecard.

Ponte Vecchio Bridge from the Hills

Ponte_vecchio_florence

One of Florence, Italy's premier palces to visit.  The bridge was built back in medieval times, and unlike any other bridge you've been on, it actually still features a variety of shops on the bridge -- jewelers, art shops and souvenir stores.  It's considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and stunning bridges in the world.

Also just recently got an email from Schmap.com, a publisher for digital travel guides (computer and mobile) -- learning that this photo is on the short-list to appear in the 8th Edition of their Schmap Florence Guide.  A nice benefit of posting photoss to Flickr.  Check back here soon to learn more about Schmap and whether it'll be in the travel guide.

Mojo - Best Free Music Sharing Program

(download)

The majority of us get free music in one way or another.  Whether it's politely taking via BitTorrent, or downloading from some Russian website, or downloading music onto flash drives from friends.  The latter 2 ways used to be my primary way of getting music.  I felt a little bad about stealing via bittorrent, so instead I paid 10 cents a song from GoMusic.ru.  Just made me feel better.

But when introduced to Mojo from my roommate, I pretty much got hooked.  Mojo is without a doubt, the best free iTunes music sharing program.  It allows you to easily access your friends' iTunes music libraries and with a double-click on a song, you're instantly moving that song into your library.  It looks like iTunes, so you should already know how to use it (unless you're one of 42 people still using Winamp).  When you're using it, the program greys out songs you already have and highlights ones in red that are copy-protected (damn protections)

Upside - tremendously easy to get music from friends you trust
Downside - Its tough to find your friends who have the service (you'll need to email them your username/password) and friends need to have the program open at the same time as you.  But that's a small price to pay to get free music from friends who live 3,000 miles away.

My username is yangro03@deusty.com.  If you're a friend of mine, email me your info and I'll send you my password to start downloading 8000+ songs.  Download Mojo now for the Best Free Music Sharing Program you'll ever use.  (bold statement yes, true statement also yes)
